The foundation bears the name “Broehan Design Foundation”. It was founded on 22 February 2005, and has its seat in Berlin. The Broehan Design Foundation (BDF) is a foundation under public law and solely and directly pursues objectives of public benefit in accordance with the provisions of § 58 No. 2 AO [German Fiscal Code].
The Broehan Design Foundation (BDF) is legally acknowledged by the Senate Administration for Justice [Senatsverwaltung für Justiz] in Berlin (Deed number 3416/749-II.2) It has been a member of the Association of German Foundations [Bundesverband Deutscher Stiftungen e.V.] ever since its establishment.
